A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its response. We do not keep a separate log of the terms entered through the search box.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained so our team can answer it and maintain the related exchange. We do not disclose that message outside the organization unless the law requires disclosure.

It describes how official Macon County records may be sought from the sheriff, the Clerk of Superior Court, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
