Questions about official Macon County criminal records must go to the government office that keeps the record. The contacts below route court files to the Clerk of Superior Court, arrest and detention material to the proper law-enforcement custodian, and fingerprint history to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.

This Is Not a Government Office. This private reference resource cannot retrieve or correct criminal records, perform an official background check, or accept an expunction petition. The appropriate Macon County or North Carolina custodian must handle those services.

The sheriff does not publish a separately named records division or general counter hours. For sheriff-created reports, begin with the Law Enforcement Center phone or the published public-information email. Once charges are filed, the judicial case belongs with the Clerk of Superior Court instead.
